Facts about .Net and its application development

The .Net explained
According to online explanations of .Net application development is a software framework, which runs on Microsoft’s Windows. The framework provides a set of rules and has a predetermined type of response that is specified according to the need of the application. The framework also has clauses to override the pre set responses only for certain functions and cannot be over ridden like normal open user codes. The .Net application development has been done to include a very extensive library and it supports multiple programming languages (from the first generation until now have been included in its library. Examples of current programming languages are C# and VB.NET). The colossal advantage of this framework is the interoperability that it allows.

The application development environment difference explained
Most frameworks run on a hardware environment, which has the hardware used and the operating system to aid the execution of the program. A software environment on the other hand is a programming environment that includes a compiler and all the tools needed to build up the framework. The .Net framework runs on a software environment called the CLR or the Common Language Runtime. This is the runtime where the source code is compiled into the Microsoft Intermediate Language (now called CIL).

The ASP.NET explained
ASP.NET development is a similar in principle and is a web application framework. This ASP.NET development was done exclusively for the purpose of building dynamic websites, web applications and web services. With its first appearance in the year 2002, this language is the logical successor of ASP (Active Server Pages) programming. As the name indicates, ASP.NET development heralded the development of pages that were ‘live’ in terms of interactive nature. The technology bloomed fast and in such a way that it was an easy job to hire asp .net developer for the job.

.Net application development with MS Silverlight
Microsoft’s Silverlight or MS Silverlight as it is known is an application framework which works with the .NET in order to write and run browser plug-ins. These MS Silverlight plug-ins extend the use of any application and are to be installed from time to time on the computer as and when the message appears on one’s browser. Some examples for these plug-ins are the Adobe Flash, Mozilla default plug – in, Shockwave Flash, Java (TM) Platform SE 6 U17 etc. plug-ins are developed by third party developers to add new features on to an existing application and even to reduce the size of an application.
